Teina Tallarigo

Teina Tallarigo
In 2000 Teina Tallarigo decided to look at another career besides the medical field. Her interests led her to graphic design. She graduated with high honors, won the Graphic Design Art Achievement Award, was a semi-finalist in The Artist’s Call for Justice (National & International web-based Arts awards program) and honorable mention in the Adobe Digital Imaging Competition.Having lived in 5 states and experienced diverse cultures, she incorporated those experiences in her artistic approach.

She has designed 4 book covers, developed a Teen Suicide Prevention Campaign, a Bullying/Kindness campaign, as well as logos, billboards, mall kiosks, a t-shirt design for the kindness campaign, a brochure cover for a theatrical production, as well as posters, flyers, and brochures.

It was in the study of graphic design that led her to painting. It was here that she felt she could express her love of nature, using layering techniques in opacities in composition, color, and texture. She has worked in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media but because of her love of oils she chose it as her favorite medium. Although starting painting in her later years, she has begun to develop as an artist and is hoping to devote herself to painting full-time.

She has some of her art in Dicere Gallery, and Astute Furnishings in Cincinnati, Ohio and had pieces in Mac Worthington’s Gallery in July 2007.
